Staff in Training Program

The Staff In training program is an exciting, immersive camp leadership program for youth ages 16 and 17. SITs learn the ins and outs of working at camp. They gain the skills to facilitate Bible study, lead worship and engage campers of all ages with games, songs and activities. The program is designed for youth who want to develop as leaders, like working with children and want to work at camp in the future. 

The SIT program runs for 4 weeks every summer. The size of the program changes from year to year but typically ranges from 4-15 participants. The youths are matched by two SIT Directors who shepherd them through the program and train them in all aspects of camp from running a cabin to washing dishes. After a week or 2 of training the SITs begin to run camp programs with members of the summer staff.

SITs travel between El Camino Pines and Luther Glen Farm, and spend time at day camps at our different host churches. The SIT program is a prerequisite for anybody under 18 who wishes to be on summer staff. 

Participants are expected to attend the entire program length.
